A film by Carla Gallo, Brazil-SP, 2008, 72 min.
During a 5-month period, the film documents the drama of many women about to interrupt their pregnancies. Authorized by law, they are cases of rape or life risk for the mother. There is also a third conditions in which the fetus is malformed and cannot survive out of the uterus. The film also includes statements by other women who have done clandestine abortion. It is a view of the different reasons for women to make this decision, as well as the moral and religious issues involved in this decision.

ABOUT THE DIRECTOR
Carla Gallo was born in 1973, in São Paulo; she graduated at the School of Communication and Arts (Escola de Comunicação e Artes – ECA), USP, in 1996. She has directed a number of medium-length documentaries, including Ruas (2007), Giramundo – Teatro de Bonecos (2004), and Tom Zé ou Quem Irá Colocar uma Dinamite na Cabeça do Século? (2000). Carla was also assistant director in Palíndromo (2000), Tônica Dominante (2000) and A Grande Noitada (1994). This documentary is her debut in feature films and received the Honorable metion in the É Tudo Verdade Festival (2008).
