LE DERNIER DES FOUS
A film by Laurent Achard, France, 2006, 96 min.
Original version with Portuguese subtitles.
It is summer, and vacations are just starting. Martin is 11 years old and he lives with his parents in their farm. He watches, dismayed, the lack of union in his family: his mother spends her time locked up in her room, his older brother – whom he loves – is drinking more and more alcohol, and his father is dominated by Martin’s grandmother. The boy watches a family disaster in which there is little communication. But his cat Mistigri and Malika, a friend from Morocco, try to comfort him in some way or another.
