HOTEL GRAMERCY PARK
A film by Douglas Keeve, USA, 2008, 74 min.
Original version with Portuguese subtitles.
The Gramercy Park Hotel is one of the landmarks in New York’s cultural life; it has seen splendor, decadence and resurgence. This documentary shows stories told about the hotel by its ex-owners, the Weisberg family (one of the heirs killed himself jumping from the hotel roof), and long-time residents who experienced all of the phases. One of the pluses of the film is to show the luxurious rebuilding promoted by the new proprietor, ex-owner of the Studio 64 Ian Schrager, together with Julian Schabel.
