The owner of the store where Yuka works as a sales girl takes her to his apartment and attempts to make her his sexual slave. Although time passes and she seems to become more and more passive, Yuka gets a form of "revenge" –in a far more complicated manner than a straight-forward revenge flick, as it's really more of a metaphorical "return to the womb" (in direct connection to the embryo of the title) for the man. While not as politically charged as many of Wakamatsu's films, The Embryo… confirms his sense of poetry –and of claustrophobia.
