Fantasy in moviemaking is a genre, an adjective and redundancy: although only certain types of cinema are considered fantasy, not necessarily part of Fantastic all of cinema is fantastic for those that are passionate about it. Fantasy is amplifying over every restriction in Cinema, infinite depth in bidimensionality, the materialization of what is impossible within an illusion of reality. It is then predictable that the current crossroads that moviemakers and followers (theoreticians, curators and spectators) face in Fantastic Cinema announce the possibility of overcoming this limitlessness. Label it as you wish: horror, suspense, comedy, even folklore theater and documentaries (as the fantastic is a perception of reality), the movies in this year’s festival insist in causing an impression that what is unbelievable has just been seen.
