LILI ET LE BAOBAB

Lili, a French photographer, travels to Agnam – a small village in Senegal – to do photographic work. In this country about which she knows nothing, photography forces her to communicate with the people. Regardless of cultural barriers, Lili develops a strong bond with Animata, a young girl who had a baby out of marriage and who faces a devastating decision. Their friendship will lead Lili to find a new path for her life.

Chantal Richard is a screenwriter and director; she was born in France in 1957. She has made a number of films, such as Un jour je repartirai (2003), Charles Peguy au lavomatic (1997), Luis et Margot (1997), Paroles (1995), Nativité (1990), and Tupik (1987).
