(Prima della Rivoluzione)
A film by Bernardo Bertolucci, Italy, 1964, 115´.
Original version with Portuguese subtitles.
Parma, 1964. Fabrizio (Francesco Barilli), a young Marxist, has his intellectual mentor in the person of professor Cesare. He has a crisis after his best friend commits suicide, and is comforted by aunt Gina (Adriana Asti), an older and neurotic woman that eventually has a love affair with this nephew of hers. But one she leaves the city; Fabrizio is desolate and begins to doubt his own idealist beliefs. Clearly autobiographic, Bertolucci was 24 years old when he launched this movie, his second.
